-Trio celebrates world-class musician and traditional country music at Nashville store-

Charlotte, NC- August 5, 2010 - Baker & Taylor, Inc., the world's largest distributor of books and entertainment products, is happy to announce it has teamed up with Nashville's Davis-Kidd Booksellers, Sugar Hill Records and country music star Marty Stuart to create Marty Stuart's The Art of Country Music.

The project kicks off at 7 p.m. Aug. 24 when Marty makes an exclusive appearance at Davis-Kidd Booksellers to discuss and sign copies of his new album, Ghost Train: The Studio B Sessions, which releases the same day.

Marty Stuart's The Art of Country Music, a store within Davis-Kidd's Nashville outlet, will feature the "Marty Selects" section, highlighting CDs, DVDs and books selected by Marty Stuart. Marty Selects will feature works from classic to contemporary country artists, as well as vintage photographs and country memorabilia from Marty's world-class personal collection.

"Baker & Taylor is proud to be working on such an exciting and unique retail project with Davis-Kidd, Sugar Hill Records and Marty Stuart," said Steve Harkins, Vice President, Independents for Baker & Taylor. "This is a dream project for a company like Baker & Taylor - whose people are passionate about music, books and movies. We're eager to lend our merchandising expertise to Marty Stuart's The Art of Country Music."

Chad Showalter, Marketing Director for Davis-Kidd added: "Davis-Kidd Booksellers is honored to partner with Marty Stuart and Baker & Taylor to launch the official Marty Stuart store in Nashville. Thirty years ago, when Marty first joined Johnny Cash's backing band, Davis-Kidd Booksellers opened its Nashville doors for the first time. Since then, Marty has inspired millions to love country music, and Davis-Kidd Booksellers has helped so many in the Nashville community love music and reading."

With the release of his 14th studio album, Marty Stuart steadily continues to lead the charge in preserving the roots, culture and history of traditional country music.  Marty started out singing gospel as a child, had a bluegrass stint with Lester Flatt in the 1970s, which was followed by six years with Johnny Cash in the '80s.  In the 90's Marty Stuart achieved commercial success with his smash hit "Hillbilly Rock."  Stuart is a four-time GRAMMY winner, platinum recording artist, Grand Ole Opry star, country music memorabilia preservationist and songwriter.

About Davis-Kidd Booksellers

In 1980, Karen Davis and Thelma Kidd opened Davis-Kidd Booksellers in Nashville, Tennessee.  In 1997, Karen and Thelma decided to retire from the business.  It was important that their philosophy of independent, local bookselling continue, so they turned to Neil Van Uum, the owner of Joseph-Beth Booksellers based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Neil had already drawn a tremendous amount of inspiration from Davis-Kidd Booksellers, and was the perfect candidate to take the Nashville-based bookstore into the new century.  Today, the 30,000 square foot Davis-Kidd Booksellers is located in the Mall at Green Hills, selling music, movies, books, children's books and gifts.
