Baker & Taylor( 01/27/2000 )
Electronic Business and Information Services (EBIS), Baker & Taylor's information services unit, unveiled new enhancements to its Internet bibliographic database, The Title Source? II.
EBIS' The Title Source II - a subscription product for verified bibliographic information on the Internet -- recently added inventory information from five wholesalers, including Bookpeople, The Booksource, the distributors, Partners Book Distributing, Inc. and Partners/West. These wholesalers join Baker & Taylor, Koen Distributors, Koen-Pacific, Login Brothers and The Bookmen whose inventories already are displayed on The Title Source II. EBIS believes The Title Source II is the only bibliographic database currently available with inventory from multiple vendors.
The Title Source II provides booksellers, librarians and publishers current book and entertainment title information. The database is updated daily and includes bibliographic data on every title, including author, ISBN, price, publisher and publication date. The Title Source II also has more than 110,000 tables of contents, more than 361,000 full color jacket images, 600,000 annotation extracts, book excerpts and full text reviews and citations from all major journals.
The Title Source II offers various functions including a duplicate check function to eliminate duplicate copies of a title in an order cart and a "sort by demand" feature, allowing users to review bestseller information to help make selections. More information on The Title Source II can be found at www.btol.com or by calling 800-775-1800.
