MARC Record Files Now Available Through Baker & Taylor Web Site Baker & Taylor, Inc.( 02/17/2000 )
Baker & Taylor recently introduced a new feature to its Web site - complete MARC (Machine Readable Cataloging Record) record files that can be downloaded for book or spoken word audio shipments. This service is available to registered customers at www.btol.com.
Traditionally, MARC records are received via diskettes or magnetic tapes, creating a time delay between receiving the product and the corresponding MARC record. By downloading the records through the Internet, there is no delay in receiving the MARC record information. Cataloging databases can be updated quickly and easily.
