George Coe Joins Baker & Taylor

Baker & Taylor, a leading full line distributor of books, video and music, announced today George Coe will join Baker & Taylor as president of Baker & Taylor Institutional, effective immediately. Coe will report to Gary Rautenstrauch, executive vice president of Baker & Taylor, Inc. and relocate to Baker & Taylor's headquarters in Charlotte, N.C.
"George's 20 years of experience and established reputation in the library industry are valuable assets to Baker & Taylor," noted Rautenstrauch. "Most important, his in-depth understanding of the needs of library customers and innovative approaches to meeting customers' needs will help Baker & Taylor remain at the forefront of the library market."
As president of Baker & Taylor Institutional, Coe will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company's units serving the school, public and academic markets. The academic market is serviced by YBP Library Services, a wholly owned subsidiary of Baker & Taylor, Inc. based in Contoocook, N.H. Additionally, Coe will be responsible for the Customized Library Services group, Professional Media Service Corp. and the sales administration team.
Before joining Baker & Taylor, Coe was vice president and general manager of Brodart Books, Brodart Library Automation Services and Brodart School Automation.
