Electronic Business and Information Services Enhances The Title Source? II

Electronic Business and Information Services (EBIS), a unit of Baker & Taylor, introduced version 2.0 of The Title Source? II, a web-based application with verified bibliographic information, adding entertainment titles and several new features.

The Title Source? II version 2.0 now includes information on more than 300,000 music CDs, VHS video and DVD products, searchable by genre, format and rating, in addition to information on 2.2 million U.S. forthcoming, in-print and out-of-print books. Products can be ordered electronically and downloaded into a MARC-formatted record.

New features include Internet Protocol (IP) addressing for users (offering an alternative multiple -user access to individual identification and password access); up-to-date inventory information from Koen Distribution and Koen Pacific, two regional book distributors; discount pricing information; and the ability to download customized MARC records at no additional charge.

"Improving speed, selection and service for our users is a priority and these additional Title Source II features help us do that," said Arden Olson, director of sales and marketing for EBIS. "We're serious about making EBIS the exclusive information provider for libraries and booksellers."

Olson added that enhancements to The Title Source? II are ongoing. "We are continuously asking our users what they need to make the service indispensable," he said.

The Title Source? II allows booksellers, librarians and publishers access to current title information. The database is updated daily and includes all bibliographic data on every book and entertainment title, including author, ISBN, price, publisher and publication date. The Title Source? II also has 76,000 Tables of Contents, 260,000 full color jacket images and full text reviews and citations from all major journals. More information on The Title Source?
