Baker & Taylor Announces E-Content Distribution Agreements Baker & Taylor, Inc.( 01/25/2002 ) Baker & Taylor, the leading supplier of books, videos, music and services to public, school and academic libraries, announced that it has entered into eBook distribution agreements with seven publishers. Indiana University Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Information Science Publishing/Idea Group Publishing/IRM Press (USA), University of Scranton Press, The Greenwood Publishing Group, and University of North Carolina Press will make a number of titles available as part of Baker & Taylor's eContent Distribution program. Through this program, Baker & Taylor will deliver eBook versions of key titles to public and academic library customers. In addition, Taylor and Francis, one of the oldest independent academic commercial publishers, has agreed to provide thousands of its highly acclaimed titles as eBooks through Baker & Taylor's eContent library solution. "Baker & Taylor has had a leadership presence for a long time in the public and academic library markets," said Evelyn Fazio, vice president of Electronic Content Acquisition. "We are building on these established relationships by adding a comprehensive eContent solution to our existing print-book products and services. We've enjoyed successful partnerships with these publishers in the past, and look forward to working with them in this new opportunity." The titles from these publishers will be made available through ED?, Baker & Taylor's eContent delivery and management solution. ED provides public and academic libraries with a turnkey solution for delivering eBooks and related services to their patrons, and will be available in 2002.
